August Reviews
Project Pitchfork - Steelrose
Metropolis Records - 7 track CDS
Project Pitchfork have come out with another darkfloor hit. This single
contains 6 remixes of the single with an extra track. The single
contains remixes by Front 242 and Apoptygma Berzerk. Definitely an
awesome single. Very much in the style of Alpha Omega. If the single is
any indication of the full length we should be in for quite a treat

Front 242 - Re-Boot
Metropolis Records - 14 track live CD
Front 242 live from last year's shows. The Cd is live but totally
remixed. This is Front 242 remixed and live. Some interesting
tecniques in the modifications of the songs. For the most part the
quality is good, though some of the remixes may have been left as the
original. Well still at least it is not a complete carbon copy of their
original works. Some tracks are etremely energetic and full. The Cd is
more techofied then anything live.

In Strict Confidence - Face The Fear
Metropolis Records - 11 track CD
Dark sounding EBM industrial music. Great vocals, sounding harsh and
deep. Good dancefloor beats. A little less tame then the last CD, but
still a overall good listen. Enough variety in the Cd to keep one
entertained as well.

Informatik - Syntax
Metropolis Records - 12 track CD
All right sounding Cd with distorted vocals and digital / electronic
melodies and beats. A little bit common and not extremly authentic.
Still a progresion for this band. Pretty basic overall but a few good
tracks worth while

Peace Love & Pitbulls - 3
The Music Cartel - 11 track CD
This CD rocks! Heavy well blended guitars with straight out good vocals
mixed with electronics and production. A new direction from the last
PLP CD. Definitely a great job. A lot of variety in the Cd from evil
cunning songs to straight up fist hitters.

S.P.O.C.K. - Assignment Earth
Subspace Communications - 15 track CD
A CD filled with pop sounding electro hits. Too poppy for the liking of
darkfloor. A little wimpy sounding and meloncholy. A remix of "Not
Human" works ok but for the most part the CD lacks and is pretty sappy.

Cycor - Distorted Neurosis
Independent - 12 track CD
Agreesive guitar cluttered sounding. Not bad in terms of a base level
but need to be more fully mastered. Some tracks sound a little too
cluttered. The Cd is heavy but sometimes too much on the rocking side.
Some tracks work well as an industrial rock act.

Translucia - Translucia
Plan 11 Records - 4 track CDS
On the suttle more peaceful side of the Darkfloor genre comes Trranlucia
who are much more elegant and melodic. The vocals stand out very well
and are very powerful. From this 4 track listen it sounds like there is
something here worth relaxing to. Definitely will appeal to those
moreso into the etheral goth sound
