March Reviews
KMFDM - MDFMK
TVT/Wax Trax Records - 6 track CDS
This CD contains 3 remixes of Megalomaniac, 2 mixes of Anarchy and, 1 of
Unfit. To be honest these remixes are more appealling then the full length
CD. It is very typically KMFDM in roots, and definately very dancebeat
oriented.

Evil's Toy - Illusion
Metropolis Records - 11 track CD
The new CD by Evil's Toy is very comparatable to their last one. LAyered
electronices and digital sounds with deep serious vocals. Very club
friendly and pure EBM. The CD on the whole is very good, but lacks in
variety. Many of the songs have the same theme throughout the whole.

Die Form - Duality
Metropolis Records - 13 track CD
Die Form's engenius mix of ethereal, classical, opera, gothic and
industrial, have produced their latest CD Duality. Comparatively to their
other material, this is much lighter instrumentally but heavier vocally. A
lot operatic influences which are forceful and prinary in songs. A
different stray for this band as it is a lot less heavy on the lower ends.
Die Form have had better CD's, but this one is not a bad one.

Project Pitchfork - Alpha Omega
Metropolis Records - 10 track CD
After almost 2 years this product has finally entered North America.
Definately one of the strongest Pitchfork CD's I've heard. Pleanty of moods
and sounds to listen to the whole CD continuously. Vocals are astounding
blended and mixed perfectly with the darkfloor sounds of this band. A
definate hit.

Sully - I Have Much to Report
Nettwerk Records - 13 Track CD
This is the debut Cd for Sully under Nettwerk and widely available. Sounds
from Lush, Curve, Cocteau Twins are evident. Immense feeling in the sings
which creates a dreamy effect. Hypnotic and sensual. Definately a pleasent
release. The CD is more on the ethereal side and at the same time a little
poppy.

Covenant - Final Man
21st Circuitry Records - 4 track CDS
New material from Covenant is honestly a bit of a let down. A lack of
overlaying which was in their last releases. Hopefully the full length CD
will be better. The CDS contains 2 versions of Final Man, which are pretty
similar overall. Another track is included and an instrumental which is
pretty minamal and repetative. If you're a huge Covenant fan get it to fill
your collection. Overall a disappointment from a great band.

Super 88 - High Energy Low Frequency
Revok Records - 9 track CD
A rock on CD. This Cd is far from "darkfloor". The CD sounds like Nirvana
meets keyboards. Will definately not appeal to the industrial or goth crowd.
Cool for the 90's Big Shiny Tune fellas though.

Curve - Come Clean
Universal Music - 13 track CD
The long awaited Cd from the back together band Curve. This Cd is not the
strongest they have put out. It seems to be a little sprread out of the
different influences which are currently around. Sometimes trip hop like,
sometimes eletronica like, sometimes very techno like. Still the fundements
of Curve are evident with Toni Halliday's vocals mixed with innovative
sounds and moods.

Various - Sounds From the Asylum 1
Base Asylum - 15 track CD
If you are looking for new and upcoming Darkfloor music get this CD. A
great compilations with good bands and no huge names to sell itself.
Independently put out and well constructed. Bands like Gridlock, Scar
Tissue, Luxt, Crocodile Shop, Chaingun Operate, are included.

Velvet Acid Christ - Calling Of The Dead
Pendragon - 11 track CD
This second Cd put out by this band is filled with heavy layers of sound.
Definately a good release which has come by in awhile. It contains many
samples and great heavy electronics which will move the dance floor. A band
to look out for for the future.

Various - Awake The Machines on the line vol 2
Out Of Line - 33 track double CD
A CD compilation containing the most extensive, most new and upcoming
artists, and material. Something to definately pick up if you can get your
hands on. No big super artist on this compilation, but plenty of nid size
and upcoming treats.

Division #9 - Dub n Bass Omen II
Tinman - 9 track CD
Solo project from Mike Hale (Crocodile Shop). Dark Drum and Bass CD.
Something kinda new in the music scene which is a little experimental but
well done. Nothing like any industrial project per se. But for those into
break beat music and dark stuff, this should be looked at.

Android Lust - Resolution
Tinman - 11 track CD
Haunting, mysterious, female vocals whispering at you with hypnotic
sequencing. Pretty interesting CD overall. A little bit monotonous
especially to take the Cd as a whole. Still horific, and emotional.

Ich - Red
Tinman - 5 track CDS
A more techno feel to this CDS. Kinda a rave styled, electronica pop sound.
A little too basic and lacking somehow. Doesn't come off strong enough to
get heavily into.
